25 Random Awesome Facts About Me!

So I filled out this tag on facebook and figured I should put it on here....

1. My name is Emily Carel Mortensen. My middle name is my grandma's name and she was named after her parents. (Their names were Cary and Elmo, so it is the first three letters from Cary and the first two from Elmo) I think it is pretty cool.

2. I really like Elephants. I have a pretty good memory and since elephants are known to never forget when I was little my family would call me Emily Elephant and it just kind of stuck.

3. I go to Utah State University. Even though I am from Southern Utah, I am really learning to enjoy the cold. I really like to experience the four distinct different seasons.

SnOwBoArDiNg!!!!

So yesterday for ward ski night I decided to give Snowboarding a try... It was my first ever attempt at any winter sport. Considering my lack of coordination I did okay. I still wasn't great. I went down the mountain two times and both times I needed help from boys to help me up. I could do the actually snowboarding part okay it was the getting up that I had struggles with. It was a lot of fun and I am now extremely sore from the adventure. I have conquered my fear of snowboarding and am now looking for something else to conquer. Peace out!

Down below is a picture of my roommate Ashley and I shortly after we received our Snowboards.

Food Olympics!!!

My ward had an activity tonight called Food Olympics. It included a marshmallow relay, eating a donut off a string, taste testing, and putting your face in flour to find a piece of gum and then blow a bubble. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. I even won the bronze medal. Below is a picture from it, sorry it is a little blurry I took it on my phone.
From Left to Right: Shaun, me, Nick, and Andrea! Covered in Flour!

Fun at Utah State!

So I haven't blogged in awhile so I would like to start out by apologizing to all of my devout readers who check my blog daily. :) haha jk.

This first picture I am posting is a picture of a bug that my roommate Ashley and I discovered in our room a couple of nights ago. It is seriously the most disgusting bug I have ever seen. Ashley being the nice roommate that she is, killed it! It was seriously the scariest thing. haha

Tonight, I just got back from going to a concert. It was Allred, Jason Reeves, and Yellowcard. Allred and Jason Reeves were amazing. Yellowcard was ok but wasn't that great. Below is a picture of me with Allred. :) He was amazing!

Well that is all for tonight. Peace Out!

I'm an Aggie!

It's official. I am an aggie! Yesterday was my first day of classes and it was pretty much amazing. :) At night there was an institute social thing and it was interesting to say the least. It was pretty fun. I really need to work on my social skills. I am doing better but can still be a little shy. My roommate Ashley and I had an interesting boy come to talk to us before the dance. He seemed nice enough but kind of weird.
My birthday was the day before and it was a party. I woke up late because I didn't have church until 12:30 and it wasn't like I really had anywhere to be. I went to church and after I introduced myself in Relief Society they said it was my birthday so they all wished me a Happy Birthday. Then at Sunday Sweets that night my whole ward sang to me and threw confetti on me. So that is my life as an Aggie so far. It is pretty fun.

Happy July!

Wow, look at me blogging two days in a row. I think all of my sisters are going to die in shock. :) Well yesterday was just a tag so I thought I would post again and update a little of what I have been doing for the past three months. Well I finished Spring semester the beginning of May and then off I went to Wisconsin for about two weeks to visit my sister Stacie and her family.

Up above is one of my favorite and most embarrassing pictures from the vacation. Yes, that is me going down a rolly slide with my two year old nephew scared for my life and he looks just fine. Since then I have just been in Summer School and working. So not too much new adventure. Summer school ends July 11 and I can't wait. I guess that is all for now. Peace out!
